Without the earlier licence version available to the installer, the installer proceeded to install its own new licence file which allowed me to select Elite install.Īll is well now, I have FP5 Elite both as a free-standing application, and as a new Pallette item in PL2 Elite, which I love.

On a hunch, I moved the license file for FP5 from its folder to a different folder, and tried launching the FP5 installer again.

I did however discover a workaround, by poking around in my computer, after having heard back from DxO's tech support.ĭxO told me this morning that because the FP5 Essentials version was already installed, their FP5 installer could not overwrite to upgrade to the Elite version. Please keep us in the loop! PS - what's funny is that the the Elite download must have worked for others. I have emailed DXO tech support about this, but I'm curious if anyone else here has had this same problem? Upon closer scrutiny, I now suspect an incorrect link on the DXO downloads page it's pretty clear that the product labelled as FP5 Elite is actually FP5 Essentials.

I have downloaded (so I thought) and installed the trial of FP5 Elite, from the DXO website, only to find it does not contain any of the new features you described above, and is not different at all from FP5 Essentials.įurthermore, my copy of PhotoLab 2 Elite does not show FP5 Elite in the startup splash-screen, only FP5 Essentials, just like before the installation of FP5 Elite. The Black Friday sale encouraged me to upgrade to FilmPack 5 Elite. It added a small number of nice features, like creative vignetting, toning options besides b/w and sepia, and some film emulations (I don't typically add grain - just use the color/contrast profiles to taste). I was using a free copy of FilmPack 5 Essentials with PhotoLab 1 & 2.
